How can I estimate the price of a translation?
When providing a quote for a document, I consider the languages involved, the word count or total number of pages, the complexity of the text, and the client’s urgency. The final price will depend on these factors, as well as whether certification is required. Express service surcharges may apply, while significant discounts can be offered for large-volume projects.
Do you do sworn translations?
In Chile there is no regulation or a regulatory body for this service, therefore, it is important to know the requirements of the institution where you will submit the translation to avoid rejection. There is no sworn or state translator either, so if a certified translation is not sufficient, I recommend opting for the official one.
What is the difference between certified and notarized translation?
A certified translation is a legally binding document in which the professional translator includes an advanced electronic signature, validating the document and allowing the recipient to verify its authenticity. Personally, I also provide a translation certificate to my clients, indicating my professional credentials, which is also electronically signed.
A notarized translation involves the translator personally declaring before a notary public that they have performed the translation and provide their professional credentials for certification. This document is attached to the requested translation and incurs an additional cost to be considered in the quote.
Please note that, although it is not yet widely known, the advanced electronic signature holds the same validity as the notarial signature.
Is certified translation the same as an official translation?
No. In Chile, there are no officially recognized translators, so only the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs can provide official translations. Therefore, it is important to know the requirements of the institution where you will submit the translation to avoid rejection. Does the service include apostille?

Do you offer express service?
Yes. However, it is subject to availability and also depends on the length and complexity of the document. Nevertheless, deadlines are agreed upon between both parties, so you will always know the delivery date and time. This service incurs an additional fee, which will be indicated in the quote.
I'm concerned about the security of the information I will send
All translated, localized, transcreated, edited, or proofread documents are treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality. I am fully aware they contain sensitive information, and in some projects, I have signed contracts to ensure a high standard of data security for the client. However, with or without a contract, I ensure the same level of protection for all my clients.
How can I estimate the price of interpretation?
When quoting an interpretation, the price will depend on the type of the service, difficulty of the topic, duration of the event, and whether it is face-to-face or remote.
Payment methods
Each quote specifies the final price and the deposit required to confirm the order. The service can be paid via bank transfer to the account provided in the quote or with debit or credit card through a payment link on the Webpay platform by Transbank. For card payments through Webpay, a surcharge corresponding to the platform’s commission will be applied.
